London Underground
Central line

From 00:45 on Saturday 20 and all day Sunday 21 January no Central line services, including Night Tube, will stop at Bank station. For Bank, exit at St. Paul’s station, which is approximately 10 minutes’ walk away, or use local bus services 8, N8 or 25. This is for cabling works as part of the Bank upgrade project.

District line
Trains will not run between Edgware Road and High Street Kensington and on Saturday and Sunday there will be no service before 09:00 and after 21:00 between Earl’s Court and Kensington (Olympia). This is due to line modernisation.

Circle line
Trains will not run between Baker Street and Hammersmith/High Street Kensington. This is due to line modernisation.

Hammersmith & City line
No service between Baker Street and Hammersmith due to line modernisation

London Overground
Until Thursday 18 January there will be no service between Hackney Downs and Enfield Town/Cheshunt (via Seven Sisters) after 22:30 due to Network Rail track work.

On Sunday 21 January there will be no service between the following stations
• Camden Road and Stratford for bridge replacement work at Highbury Corner
• Highbury & Islington and Dalston Junction for bridge replacement work at Highbury Corner
• Sydenham and Crystal Palace for Network Rail track and infrastructure work
• Romford and Upminster due to Crossrail construction work and Network Rail infrastructure work
• Until 23:59, Bethnal Green will not be served by trains to/from Chingford

TfL Rail
On Saturday there will be a reduced train service between Chadwell Heath and Shenfield. Trains will run every 15 minutes between Liverpool Street and Chadwell Heath and every 30 minutes between Chadwell Heath and Shenfield. This is due to track maintenance.

On Sunday 21 January, there will be no service between Stratford and Shenfield

Buses
Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed, diverted or stop short of their normal destination:

Kingston – Until 2 February, there will be various lane restrictions in place on Wood Street. From 22 January, on A307 Wheatfield Way at the junction of College Roundabout (Kingston) there will be various lane closures and restrictions in place. Daytime works will take place between 09:30 and 14:00, and overnight works will take place between 20:00 and 06:00. This is for utility work.

Central London – From 15:30 today, Thursday 18, and Friday 19 January, there will demonstrations taking place in the Central London Area including, but not confined too, London Bridge and the Aldwych Area.

Lumiere London – From today, Thursday 18, until Sunday 21 January, roads in central London, in particular the West End and King’s Cross areas, will be busier than usual each evening and journeys are expected to take longer. London Underground

Metropolitan line
On Sunday, trains will not run between Aldgate and Wembley Park before 09:30 and after 20:30. This is to allow us to replace track and signalling between Baker Street and Finchley Road.

London Overground
On Sunday 14 January there will be no service between the following stations due to bridge replacement work at Highbury Corner:

• Camden Road and Stratford
• Highbury & Islington and Dalston Junction

Until Sunday 14 January, trains will not run between Gospel Oak and Barking. This is while Network Rail continue major work to enable new, longer trains to run from this spring.

Lumiere London – From Thursday 18 until Sunday 21 January, roads in central London, in particular the West End and King’s Cross areas, will be busier than usual each evening and journeys are expected to take longer. This is due to the crowds and road closures for the Lumiere London Festival.

Festive services

The majority of our services will run. The main changes to our services on the key days are outlined below. For details of the services running each day, please visit tfl.gov.uk/christmas-travel

Saturday 23 December – Planned closures on TfL Rail, some London Overground routes and part of the Northern line.

Christmas Eve, Sunday 24 December – Last trains on Tube and rail services will be earlier than usual and buses will run until about midnight. Planned closures on TfL Rail, London Overground and some Tube lines.

Christmas Day, Monday 25 December – No service on the TfL network. Santander Cycles will be available as normal.

Boxing Day, Tuesday 26 December – Tube services will start later than usual with planned closures on some lines. There will be no London Overground or TfL Rail service. Buses will run a Sunday service. Santander Cycles will be available as normal.

Wednesday 27 – Friday 29 December – Saturday services will run on most of the network. Planned closures on TfL Rail, London Overground and some Tube lines.

Saturday 30 December – Planned closures on TfL Rail, London Overground and some Tube lines.

New Year’s Eve, Sunday 31 December – Free travel will be provided on all of our services from 23:45 until 04:30 or last service.

Some tube stations will have different arrangements than usual during the evening for the fireworks event.

From around 14:00 some bridges and roads in central London will start to close to prepare for the ticketed fireworks event. All bridge and road closures will be in place from 20:00 and most will re-open at 06:00 on Monday 1 January, or when safe to do so. Once road closures are in place, bus hubs will be in operation. Some central London road closures will remain until 18:00 for the New Year’s Day Parade.

Monday 1 January – Road closures will be in place in central London to facilitate the New Year’s Day Parade. Saturday or Sunday services will run on most of the network. Planned closures on TfL Rail, some London Overground routes and part of the Northern line.

From Sunday 24 until Saturday 30 December, there will be no service between Edgware Road and Aldgate, via Victoria while we replace track and points in the Gloucester Road area.

District line
From Sunday 24 until Saturday 30 December, trains will not run between the following stations while we carry out track and points replacement work in the Earl’s Court area:
• South Kensington / Edgware Road and Ealing Broadway / Richmond / Wimbledon
• Earl’s Court to Kensington (Olympia)

Piccadilly line trains to / from Rayners Lane and Uxbridge will call additionally at Ravenscourt Park, Stamford Brook, Turnham Green and Chiswick Park, approximately every 10 minutes.

Northern line
On Friday 22 December, there will be no Charing Cross branch trains between Charing Cross and Stockwell from approximately 00:00 until 02:00 on Friday night / Saturday morning. This is in preparation for the Northern line extension.

On Monday 1 January 2018, there will be no service between Charing Cross and Kennington from18:00 to prepare for the Northern line extension.

Waterloo & City line
On Tuesday 26 December, the Waterloo & City line is closed as part of a reduced Bank Holiday service.

London Overground
On Friday 22 and Saturday 23 December, due to Thameslink Programme works there will be no service between the following stations:

• Surrey Quays and New Cross Gate from 00:15 until 05:30 Friday night / Saturday morning
• Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction / Crystal Palace / West Croydon until 09:45 on Saturday

On Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 December, trains will not run between the following stations:
• Camden Road and Stratford as well as between Highbury & Islington and Dalston Junction due to bridge replacement work at Highbury Corner
• Romford and Upminster due to Crossrail construction work

On Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 December no London Overground services will run.

On Sunday 31 December, trains will not run between Euston and Kilburn High Road until 12:15 and from 20:30, while Network Rail carry out track work.

There will be no service on the entire line from Saturday 23 December until Monday 1 January while Network Rail carry out track and station improvements as part of their Railway Upgrade Plan, as well as Crossrail construction work.

Changes will also apply to the way traffic uses Highbury Corner roundabout for the full duration of Holloway Road closure. Vehicles will use the southern part of the roundabout as a two way road instead of moving around the roundabout. Temporary signals will be in operation.

Roads
The Congestion Charge will be suspended from Saturday 23 December until Monday 1 January inclusive. The daily charge will apply again from Tuesday 2 January.

National Rail London Terminals
There will be no Heathrow Express and Heathrow Connect services from Sunday 24 to Wednesday 27 December. The Piccadilly line will be open throughout the period, except on Christmas Day and will be very busy; allow more time for your journey.

There will also be no Southeastern trains to Charing Cross, Waterloo East, London Bridge, Cannon Street, Deptford, Greenwich, Maze Hill, Westcombe Park, New Cross and St. Johns from Saturday 23 December to Monday 1 January.

Thameslink trains will not run between Blackfriars and St. Pancras throughout this period and there will be a reduced Southern timetable, including a rail replacement bus service to Gatwick Airport on Boxing Day.

Central London – Until 06:00 on 23 December, the carriageway on Waterloo Bridge is reduced to one lane both ways for bridge maintenance work. On 16 December between 21:00 and 06:00, the bridge will be closed fully in both directions.

North London – From 01:00 on Monday 18 December until 04:00 on Monday 8 January, Holloway Road will be closed in both directions at the junction with Highbury Corner. Changes will also apply to the way traffic uses Highbury Corner roundabout for the full duration of Holloway Road closure. Vehicles will use the southern part of the roundabout as a two way road instead of moving around the roundabout. Temporary signals will be in operation.

Roads
The Congestion Charge and T Charge will be suspended from Saturday 23 December until Monday 1 January inclusive. The daily charge will apply again from Tuesday 2 January. Road users may be affected by the following during the festive period.

Central London – Until 22 December, Fenchurch Street at the junction of Billiter Street will be closed in both directions to facilitate borough urban realm improvements.

Central London – Today Thursday 14 December, from 10:00 until 14:00, there will be possible short traffic holds along Ludgate Hill and approaches, and St Paul’s Churchyard between Ludgate Hill and New Change. This is for an event.

Central London – Until 06:00 on 23 December, the carriageway on Waterloo Bridge is reduced to one lane both ways for bridge maintenance work. On 16 December between 21:00 and 06:00, the bridge will be closed fully in both directions.

North London – From 01:00 on Monday 18 December until 04:00 on Monday 8 January, Holloway Road will be closed in both directions at the junction with Highbury Corner. Changes will also apply to the way traffic uses Highbury Corner roundabout for the full duration of Holloway Road closure. Vehicles will use the southern part of the roundabout as a two way road instead of moving around the roundabout. Temporary signals will be in operation.

National Rail London Terminals
There will be no Heathrow Express and Heathrow Connect services from Sunday 24 to Wednesday 27 December. The Piccadilly line will be open throughout the period, except on Christmas Day and will be very busy; allow more time for your journey.

There will also be no Southeastern trains to Charing Cross, Waterloo East, London Bridge, Cannon Street, Deptford, Greenwich, Maze Hill, Westcombe Park, New Cross and St. Johns from Saturday 23 December to Monday 1 January.

Thameslink trains will not run between Blackfriars and St. Pancras throughout this period and there will be a reduced Southern timetable, including a rail replacement bus service to Gatwick Airport on Boxing Day.

Here is our weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 9-10 December, and also the following week. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, but please check if any of the following affect you.

London Underground

Metropolitan line
On Sunday there will be no service between Aldgate and Wembley Park on the Metropolitan line before 09:30 and after 20:30. This is to allow us to replace track and signalling between Baker Street and Finchley Road.

London Overground
Tonight, Thursday, there will be no service between Hackney Downs and Enfield Town/Cheshunt (via Seven Sisters) after 22:30 due to Network Rail track work.

All weekend there will be no service between Willesden Junction and Camden Road due to Network Rail infrastructure work.

On Saturday trains will not run between the following stations due to Crossrail construction work:
• Highbury & Islington and Shadwell
• Surrey Quays and New Cross

On Sunday there will be no service between the following stations:
• Highbury & Islington and New Cross / New Cross Gate due to Crossrail construction work and Network Rail infrastructure work

Bakerloo line
This weekend there will be no service on the entire line, whilst we carry out essential work.

Due to the highly complex nature of this work, on Monday morning a very limited service will run between:
• Harrow & Wealdstone and Queen’s Park
• Elephant & Castle and Piccadilly Circus

Services between Queen’s Park and Piccadilly Circus will begin after 08:00 on Monday morning. We will try to start services before then if we can.

Jubilee line
There will be no Friday and Saturday Night Tube service between Waterloo and Wembley Park from approximately 00:45 to 04:40 Saturday and approximately 03:00 to 06:00 Sunday. This is to allow for the movement of engineering trains.

London Overground
All weekend there will be no service between Euston and Willesden Junction due to London Underground track and drainage work.

From 18:30 on Saturday 18 November until Sunday 14 January 2018, trains will not run between Gospel Oak and Barking. This is while Network Rail continue major work to enable new, longer trains to run from spring 2018.

There will be no access to Jamaica Road westbound for traffic heading northbound on adjoining roads. Queen Elizabeth Street will also be closed westbound between Tooley Street and Tower Bridge Road. Stop/go boards will be used on Old Jamaica Road, Thurland Road, and Abbey Street. This is due to an event.

Finsbury Park – From 21:45 until 23:15 on Saturday and 21:15 until 22:45 on Sunday, Stroud Green Road between Tollington Park and Seven Sisters Road may be closed. This is due to an event.

Wembley – From 11:00 until 22:00 on Sunday, roads around the stadium will be busier than usual, including A406, Harrow Road and Wembley High Road. This is due to an event.

Central London – From 22:00 on Monday until 06:00 on Thursday, Shaftesbury Avenue between Piccadilly Circus and Rupert Street will be closed. This is for crane work.

Santander Cycles
The following docking stations will be out of service this weekend:
• South Quay West, Foley Street, Bourne Street, Cardinal Place and Portugal Street for building works
• Westfield Eastern Access Road, Sun Street, Montgomery Square and Dorset Square for site redevelopment

London Underground

Circle line
On Saturday there will be no service between Edgware Road and Hammersmith while we test new signalling and replace track at Latimer Road.

Hammersmith & City line
On Saturday trains will not run between Edgware Road and Hammersmith. This is to allow us to test new signalling and replace track at Latimer Road.

Metropolitan line
On Sunday trains will not run between Aldgate and Wembley Park before 09:30 and after 20:30. This is to allow us to replace track and signalling between Baker Street and Finchley Road.

Northern line
There will be no Friday Night Tube service between Charing Cross and Stockwell, from approximately 00:45 until 01:30 on Saturday morning. This is in preparation for the Northern line extension.

London Overground
Tonight, Thursday, there will be no service between Hackney Downs and Enfield Town/Cheshunt (via Seven Sisters) after 22:30, due to Network Rail track work.

All weekend trains will not run between New Cross Gate and Crystal Palace/West Croydon for Network Rail track work.

On Sunday and every day until 22 October there will be no service between Gospel Oak and Barking. This is while Network Rail continue major works to enable new, longer trains to run from spring 2018.

TfL Rail
On Saturday trains will not run between Liverpool Street and Stratford. This is while Network Rail carry out track and station improvements as part of their Railway Upgrade Plan, as well as Crossrail construction work

DLR
All weekend there is no service between Stratford and Bow Church. This is due to Crossrail work at Pudding Mill Lane.

Buses
Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed, diverted or stop short of their normal destination:

Wembley – From 14:00 until 21:30 on Saturday, roads around the stadium will be busier than usual, including A406, Harrow Road and Wembley High Road. This is due to an event.

North London – From 08:00 on Saturday until 18:00 on Sunday, one lane will be closed on Seven Sisters Road (N4) (Southbound) between Alexandra Grove and Queen’s Drive. This is due to Thames Water work.

Central London – On Saturday from 06:00 until 23:00 Bermondsey Street, between Crucifix Lane and Long Lane, will be closed. Tanner Street between Bermondsey Street and Tower Bridge Road and Leathermarket Street will also be closed. This is due to an event.

Central London – From 15:00 until 17:00 on Saturday, there will be traffic holds on roads including Temple Place, Northumberland Avenue, Whitehall, Parliament Street, Bridge Street and Victoria Embankment. This is due to a march.

Central London – From 22:00 on Saturday until 14:00 on Sunday, Lambeth Bridge will be closed in all directions. The northbound bus lane on Albert Embankment approaching Lambeth Bridge will also be restricted during these hours. This is due to an event.

Harrow – From 08:00 until 12:00 on Sunday, there will be road closures on roads including High Street, Headstone Drive, Headstone Lane, Uxbridge Road, St Thomas’ Drive, Paines Lane and Pinner Road. This is due to an event.

A406 Staples Corner Flyover – From 22:00 on Monday until 05:00 on Tuesday, the flyover will be closed to eastbound traffic. From 22:00 on Tuesday until 05:00 on Wednesday, the flyover will be closed to westbound traffic. This is for resurfacing work.
