Entry requirements
Recognition of South African Qualifications for Undergraduate Entry
Academic:
- QM accepts South African students holding the National Senior Certificatefor entry to a Foundation programme
- Subject to the degree programme they have applied for, South African students holding the Senior Certificate (with matriculation endorsement) will be admitted to a Bachelor’s programme if they have obtained Higher Grade Passes (BBBCC-BBBBB) in five or more subjects and awarded with merit.

English:
- Please refer to English language and foundation courses for different course requirements.
- Students with A’ levels or IB will not require IELTS or TOEFL

Academic:
- Queen Mary requires South African students to have achieved a 2:1 Bachelor classification in a relevant field for entry to our Postgraduate programmes.
