Here is our weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 21 and 22 July, and also the following week.

Most of the network will be open with services running as normal, so you’ll be able to get wherever you need to go, but to ensure your journey goes smoothly please check if any of the following affect you.

Kennington improvements

Until mid-September, the Northern and Victoria lines, and some stations, are likely to be busier. Bank branch Northern line trains will not stop at Kennington while we carry out essential work to make it quicker and easier to change between branches, ready for the Northern Line Extension.

London Underground

Central line
From 05:00 on Saturday 21 until 05:00 on Sunday 22 July, Central line trains will not stop at Bank station. This is due to platform engineering work.

Circle line
On Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 July, there will be no service on the entire line. This is due to line modernisation and signal testing.

District line
On Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 July, there will be no service between Edgware Road and High Street Kensington. This is due to line modernisation and signal testing.

Hammersmith & City line
On Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 July, there will be no service between Moorgate and Hammersmith. This is due to line modernisation and signal testing.

Metropolitan line
On Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 July, there will be no service between Aldgate and Harrow-on-the-Hill. This is due to line modernisation and signal testing.

London Overground
On Sunday 22 July, there will be no service between:
• Richmond and Gospel Oak, due to Network Rail track work
• Shepherd’s Bush and Willesden Junction, due to Network Rail track work
• Sydenham and Crystal Palace, due to Network Rail track work

DLR
On Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 July, there will be no service between:
• Bank and Tower Gateway to Canary Wharf and Canning Town, due to track work
• Bow Church to Canary Wharf, due to track work

Buses
Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed, diverted or stop short of their normal destination:

South Bank – From 20:00 on Friday 20 until 05:30 on Monday 23 July, York Road lane one will be closed in both directions between Mepham Street and Station Approach. Lane two will be closed in both directions from Friday 3 until Monday 6 August. This is to facilitate ducting works.

Victoria Embankment – From 22:00 on Friday 20 until 00:05 on Sunday 22 July, Chelsea Embankment will have various lane restrictions in place in both directions between Embankment Gardens and Chelsea Bridge. This is to build a new road layout that will remain throughout the Thames Tideway works.

Westminster – From 10:00 until 18:00 on Saturday 21 July, there may be localised disruptions from Portland Place to Trafalgar Square via Oxford Circus, Regent Street, Piccadilly Circus, Haymarket and Pall Mall East. Delays are possible. This is due to a march.

Streatham – From 12:00 on Saturday 21 until 23:59 on Sunday 22 July, Streatham High Road will be closed in both directions between Streatham Common South and Streatham Common North. Expect increased pedestrian levels in the area. This is due to an event in Streatham Common.

Regent Street – From 08:00 until 20:00 on Sunday 22 July, Regent Street will be closed between Piccadilly Circus and Oxford Street in both directions. New Burlington Street will be closed from 05:00 until 21:00. This is due to an event.

Roads
Road users may be affected by the following this weekend:

South Bank – From 20:00 on Friday 20 until 05:30 on Monday 23 July, York Road lane 1 will be closed in both directions between Mepham Street and Station Approach. Lane 2 will be closed in both directions from Friday 3 until Monday 6 August. This is to facilitate ducting works.

The following docking stations will be out of service this weekend:
* South Quay West, Canary Wharf, due to building works
* Westfield Eastern Access Road, Shepherd’s Bush, due to site redevelopment
* Rodney Street, Angel, due to health and safety
* Clifford Street, Mayfair, due to street works
* Portugal Street, Holborn, due to building works
* Calshot Street, King’s Cross, due to utility works
* Pennington Street, Wapping, due to filming
* Frith Street, Soho, due to utility works
