Transport Updates for this weekend

London Underground

Metropolitan line
On Sunday trains will not run between Aldgate and Wembley Park before 09:30 and after 20:30. This is to allow us to replace track and signalling between Baker Street and Finchley Road

London Overground
All weekend, trains will not run between Romford and Upminster due to Crossrail construction work and Network Rail infrastructure work.

On Sunday, there will be no service between the following stations:
• Camden Road and Stratford due to bridge replacement work at Highbury Corner
• Sydenham and Crystal Palace due to Network Rail track work

Also on Sunday until 23:59, Bethnal Green will not be served by trains to/from Chingford.

Until Sunday 22 October, there will be no service between Gospel Oak and Barking. This is while Network Rail continues major work to enable new, longer trains to run from spring 2018.

TfL Rail
All weekend, trains will not run between Stratford and Shenfield. This is while Network Rail carry out track and station improvements as part of their Railway Upgrade Plan, as well as Crossrail construction work.

DLR
On Saturday and Sunday, there is no service between Stratford and Bow Church. This is due to Crossrail work at Pudding Mill Lane.

Buses
Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed, diverted or stop short of their normal destination:

North London – From 17:00 today, Thursday, until 22:00 tomorrow, A406 / Brentfield Road will be closed in both directions. There will also be lane restrictions on the A406 at the junction of Drury Way. This is for an event.

Central London – From 13:15 until 16:00 on Saturday, there will be short traffic holds on the following roads: Whitechapel High Street, Aldgate High Street, Minories, Mansell Street, and Tower Bridge. This is for a march.

West London – From 17:00 on Saturday 21 October, until 05:00 on Sunday 29 October, Hammersmith Bridge will be closed in both directions. The bridge remains open to pedestrians and cyclists. This is due to maintenance work.

Wembley – From 13:00 until 20:00 on Sunday, roads around the stadium will be busier than usual, including A406, Harrow Road and Wembley High Road. This is due to an event.

South West London – From 15:00 until 23:00 on Sunday, roads around Twickenham Stadium will be busier than usual including A316 Chertsey Road. Between 19:00 and 23:00, there will be an eastbound lane closure on A316 Chertsey Road between Hospital Bridge Road and London Road. There will also be closures and diversions on London Road, Whitton Road and Rugby Road. This is due to an event.

Central London – From 17:30 until 19:30 on Monday, there will traffic holds on all approaches to Trafalgar Square and Parliament Square. There will also be a southbound closure of Whitehall, and Horse Guards Avenue will also be closed. This is for an event.

Central London – From 00:01 until 23:59 on Monday, Piccadilly (eastbound), between Down Street and Clarges Street will be closed. This is for development / construction work.

Roads
Road users may be affected by the following this weekend:

Central London – From 10:00 until 14:00 on Friday, there will be some short traffic holds on roads including Giltspur Street, Newgate Street, King Edward Street, Museum of London roundabout, St Martins le Grand, Gresham Street and Guildhall. This is for an event.

Central London – From 22:00 on Saturday until 06:00 on Monday, eastbound lane closures will be in place at Marylebone Road (eastbound) at the junction of York Gate. This is for Thames Water work.

Central London – From 07:00 until 18:00 on Saturday, the bus lane on London Bridge (northbound) will be restricted. This is for an event.

Central London – From 19:00 on Saturday until midday on Sunday, a westbound lane closure will be in place on Jamaica Road between Southwark Park and St James’s Road. There will be no access to Jamaica Road westbound for traffic heading northbound on adjoining roads. Queen Elizabeth Street will also be closed westbound between Tooley Street and Tower Bridge Road. Stop/go boards will be used on Old Jamaica Road, Thurland Road, and Abbey Street. This is due to an event.

Finsbury Park – From 21:45 until 23:15 on Saturday and 21:15 until 22:45 on Sunday, Stroud Green Road between Tollington Park and Seven Sisters Road may be closed. This is due to an event.

District line
There will be no service between Edgware Road and High Street Kensington while we test new signalling at Baker Street and Edgware Road.

Hammersmith & City line
Trains will not run between Hammersmith and Kings Cross St. Pancras as we test new signalling at Baker Street and Edgware Road.

Metropolitan line
There will be no service between Aldgate and Wembley Park. This is to allow for track and drainage replacement work between Baker Street and Finchley Road.

London Overground
All weekend there will be no trains between Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction, due to Network Rail infrastructure and track work, as well as Earls Court development work.

All day Saturday and until 15:30 on Sunday there will be no service between Gospel Oak and Barking. This is while Network Rail carry out major work to enable new, longer trains to run from 2018.

On Sunday there will be no service between Euston and Kilburn High Road until 12:00 and after 20:30, due to Network Rail track work.

From Monday to Thursday next week, there will be no service between Hackney Downs and Enfield Town/Cheshunt (via Seven Sisters) after 22:30, due to Network Rail track work.

Buses
Bus users may be affected by the following this weekend. While we will try to maintain a good service, buses may be delayed or stop short of their normal destination:

A406 Staples Corner Flyover – Until late September, various lane and road closures are in place on the flyover, including a full closure from 22:00 tomorrow, Friday, until 05:00 on Monday. This is for essential maintenance works.

City of London – Until the end of October, Bishopsgate is closed southbound between Camomile Street and Threadneedle Street. This is for utility work.

Central London – From 11:00 until 17:00 on Saturday, there will be road closures and traffic holds on roads including Park Lane, Hyde Park Corner, Piccadilly, St James’s Street, Pall Mall, Trafalgar Square, Whitehall and Parliament Square. This is due to a march.

Fewer Southeastern trains will run and all services will be busier. Cannon Street and Victoria stations will be exceptionally busy with queuing systems in place.

Booked a pick up from our Air BNB in London Soho to Heathrow airport for 4:00am. Didn’t want to hunt for a cab in 29 degree F weather at 4:00am. Very pleased with the service. Emanuel was at our front door promptly at 4:00am and we had a smooth trip to Heathrow within 30 minutes without incident. He handled our baggage and his car was clean.
